However, balanced to unbalanced adapters are a thing, and are perfectly safe to use.The 770s are V shaped so in order to emphasize the bass and highs you recess the mids. It's just the way they are. I don't think they're completely lacking, but their signature is definitely not considered neutral or mid centric.
